An Indian delegation has arrived at the United Nations Security Council to bring attention to the recent Pahalgam terror attack before the 1267 Sanctions Committee, after the group known as The Resistance Front claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Resistance Front is widely recognized as a front group for Lashkar-e-Taiba, a banned terrorist organization operating out of Pakistan. The Indian technical team, as per PTI sources, landed in New York with the objective of gathering global support and action against this threat.

India’s Diplomatic Push at the UN

On Wednesday, the Indian team is set to hold meetings with representatives from several UN member states and the Monitoring Team of the 1267 Committee. These discussions aim to highlight Pakistan’s continued sheltering of terrorist groups targeting Indian civilians.

The delegation will also reach out to the Executive Directorate of the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTED) and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) to strengthen international cooperation and push for updated sanctions.

Operation Sindoor: India’s Strong Military Response

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which took the lives of 26 innocent civilians. The operation targeted nine terror camps and infrastructure facilities located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

This marked one of India’s most decisive counter-terror operations in recent times, showcasing both its military capability and diplomatic resolve on the global stage.
