SIA, Kashmir dismantles sleeper cell modules. Raids at approximately 20 sites in South Kashmir
Srinagar, May 11, KDC:
&K police is monitoring the terror associates and overground workers (OGW) operating in Kashmir. Technical savviness confirmed that a vast number of Kashmir’s sleeper cells were in day-to-day touch with their masters based in Pakistan and were engaging in transmitting sensitive and strategic intel related to security forces and key installations through messenger applications, such as but not limited to WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, etc. These terror cohorts also participated in web-based radical propaganda at the direction of terrorist leaders of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Muhammad, encroaching on national security and integrity.
In a statement to Srinagar-based news agency Kashmir Dot Com, A spokesperson remarked,
On 11 May 2025, State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir conducted searches at approximately 20 locations across all districts of South Kashmir pertaining to case FIR No. 01/2025 U/S 13, 17, 18, 18-B, 38, 39 UA(P) Act of P/S CI/SIA Kashmir.
During the raids, huge amounts of incriminating material have been seized, and the suspects detained for further questioning.
Initial investigation has unequivocally brought forth that these organizations are themselves involved in terrorist conspiracy, spreading and promoting anti-India narratives with the sole intention of not only undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India but also of causing disaffection, public disorder, and communal hatred.
State Investigation Agency, Kashmir, remains committed to the protection of national security and the maintenance of public order. It will remain resolute in acting against individuals or groups engaged in any form of secessionist and terrorist acts. (KDC)
